Greetings from planet mars. Since i've no school and everyone else is in school today, i shall come up with a short post while i was in NY. I should have went to work, gah.
A pretty long 4hrs flight to Shanghai to change flight. But who knows how lucky we were to be stucked there for an extra 6hrs instead due to technical faults with the plane. The china people are reallllllly scary .___. They were shouting and screaming at those in-charge as they missed their flights. I was laughing at how different the ang mohs and china people react. Really funny. Caught the next available flight, the next morning and yet another freaking 18hrs flight? Almost died in there.
Touched down at NY, then took another flight to Orlando. Imagine the total amount of hours spent on flying........ The weather was really cooling at Orlando, just a little cooler then Sg. Loved it there though it's like hot and cold. Can't rmb what we did on the first day...... but i think we took the bus to a factory outlet nearby. The start of a happy girl hehe. Went to the theme parks on day 2, 3 & 4. I think everyone spent the most at the Harry Potter world. They sold items like the wands and all, really interesting but pointless to get. Oh and there's this dr suess world where they sell really cute merchandise with the words 'thing 1' & 'thing 2' on it. Really really cute. Saw many couples and family wearing it hahaha. My favourite rides of all have got to be the one that goes 90degrees up then down. My heart was in my mouth and there was actually a video recorder infront of us in the cabin. Caught the video of myself screaming my guts out & the messy hair flying in all directions, honestly couldn't stop laughing at myself.
There's also this futuristic theme park with really cool stuffs that you won't imagine. Ate the biggest turkey leg ever & went to this ride where you have to sit in a car and the best part of it is that the speed increased by hell lot & the wind going against your skin is like really refreshing. Had dinner at boston lobster feast, which was supposed to be a buffet to eat like 10 gazillion lobsters. Instead, i filled up tummy up with other food just not lobster. Not exactly to my liking. Dad brought me to this shop nearby our hotel which sells dirt cheap alcohol. He insists that i will KO after like what 3 shots of pure?? End up bought 3 small bottles back to prove to him hahaha. Oh and i told him about underage clubbing and all and he couldn't stop laughing cos he didn't know such things existed haha. Glad to have such a open-minded father.
Can't rmb what happened next, i'll just blog based on those pictures that i have.
Back at NY, we went to Riley's believe it or not odditorium on one of the nights. They have all the weirdest things you can't imagine. Freaky yet interesting at the same time. Half the time my mind was filled with 'wtf?' Dad kept trying to scare me -__- We played the light maze thing. Those that you see in the show where you can't touch the light rays. Good experience but really tiring to use the arm muscle to pull your body.
Hardcore shopping for me, and we walked past this park with a enormous ice skating ring in the middle with lots of people skating in a chilly weather. Kinda regretted not going for it thanks to my sick need to shop. Took a long bus ride to Nigara falls @ Canada. My tour guide had a good sense of humour but his attitude sucks at times. Beautiful waterfalls + freezing cold weather + a hour of shopping + crystal head vodka. Worth waking up early in the morning. Didn't manage to meet up with Daph, what a pity. Missed her so much :(
Took a ferry to see the statue of liberty. Countless failed attempt to get a good jump shot. My hands were freezing aftermath cos i took off my outercoat. Went back & ate the best burger/hotdogs ever, called shake shack. Then off to see the 911 buildings. It's still under construction but it's really high up already. Heard it used to be much higher. There were posters as well saying that the terrorists had help from certain US authorities. Everything's filled with doubts.
The next day, we went to a part of NY called chinatown. Faces filled with joy when we finally saw a china restuarant. Had our lunch there without any hesitation & everyone was so desperate for china food we ended up snatching over it hahaha. Caught some show on Christmas day & had korean bbq at night. Went back to the hotel & all of us started drinking my vodka (which is veryx5 strong btw.) Went shopping one of the days & it ended up with me shopping alone & going back to the hotel by the subway alone carrying all the paper bags. My shoulder hurt lika bitch but still worth it :D
More shopping over the days. Walked around Time square, which was flooded with people. And they have 4 stories high M&M & Toys 'r' Us. It was a really beautiful place especially at night with all the lights. Had starbucks almost every night cos the weather was really cold & there's like a starbucks outlet every 200m?!?! They didn't have my fav coffee bean :( Didn't do much on the last day as we had to rush to the airport. Pity we didn't stay till New year eve, heard that lady gaga was there!!!!!!!!! & it was just right outside of the hotel that we stayed in......... Wasted.
But still, one of the best 2 weeks in 2011. (not a short post afterall)
